By Mathieu Hamel, President, TIAC

Hello, dear members and future members of TIAC,

As we step into a new year, I have the privilege of reflecting on the strong progress and shared accomplishments of our association over the past year. None of this would be possible without the dedication and leadership of our board of directors and the many volunteers serving on TIAC’s committees. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to each of you. Your collective commitment continues to drive our association forward with purpose, momentum, and confidence. The strength of our individual expertise, brought together within one national organization, makes TIAC a powerful voice in advancing mechanical insulation across Canada.

Looking ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting and impactful year for TIAC. One of the central pillars of my mandate is excellence, and a key initiative supporting this objective is the national advancement of TIAC’s Quality Assurance Certificate (QAC) Program. Already implemented in Québec, the program is gaining traction, and we are confident that additional provinces will soon follow. I would also like to recognize the BCICA for its long-standing leadership and pioneering work in quality assurance, which has helped demonstrate the value and effectiveness of these programs. TIAC is proud to steward the continued evolution and national expansion of the QAC as a practical tool to promote quality, professionalism, and consistency across our industry.

Another major priority for TIAC is innovation in education and training. In this context, we are making strong progress on the development and implementation of the Insulator Foundational Skills Training Program, made possible through the AIS grant from the Government of Alberta. We are on track to meet all project deliverables, and we are confident the program will be delivered on time and with meaningful impact. Importantly, all work completed under this grant remains the property of TIAC. Once our formal obligations with the Government of Alberta are fulfilled, this program will be positioned to benefit contractors and workers across all Canadian provinces.

I would also like to personally invite you to join us at the TIAC Annual Conference, taking place in Québec City from August 19 to 22. It will be a great honour to welcome you to my home province. Québec City offers a unique blend of history, culture, and hospitality, and I encourage you to take the opportunity to attend with your family and experience everything the region has to offer.

As I write this message, I am enjoying the winter season and the snowfall that allows me to practice my favourite sport, alpine skiing. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who supported my fundraising efforts for the 24H Tremblant event in December 2025. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

Thank you, dear members, for your continued trust and support. I look forward to connecting with many of you in Québec City this August and to working together as we continue to strengthen and advance our industry nationwide.  ▪
