The Membership & Marketing Committee was recently established to help support membership growth, engagement, and awareness of the mechanical insulation industry across Canada. It combines the Membership and TIAC Times Committees into one entity, helping to establish a robust and holistic way forward in promoting the association and its benefits to new and existing members.
The committee
The committee is chaired by James Low (Ideal Products) and currently includes David Iervella (Knauf), Nicholas Mastromatteo (InsulFibre), and Jessica Kirby (Point One Media), with Tristan Bertram, Director of Industry Affairs at TIAC, continuing to sit in when possible.
James Low previously served as Chair of TIAC’s Innovators Committee and is honoured to take on this new role with the Membership & Marketing Committee. He looks forward to continuing to serve TIAC’s membership and supporting the association’s growth in this next chapter.
The committee brings together a strong group with a wide range of industry experience and a shared passion for strengthening TIAC and growing its membership. There is genuine excitement around collaborating as the committee takes shape and begins its work heading into 2026.
Early-stage focus
As a new committee, initial meetings have focused on establishing structure, defining priorities, and ensuring space for both marketing-related discussions and broader membership-focused conversations.
Early discussions have included the potential exploration of additional or associate membership categories to better reflect the broader mechanical insulation ecosystem. These could include groups such as labour organizations, training facilities, engineering firms and associations, mechanical contractor associations, and construction-related organizations.
Looking ahead in 2026
While still in its formative stage, the committee is focused on listening to members, identifying practical opportunities to add value, and supporting initiatives that strengthen TIAC’s relevance and reach moving forward.
Two key objectives regarding the TIAC Times include adding more technical content of relevance to both the engineering community and contractors and promoting further engagement from the engineering committee. The committee has started reaching out to TIAC members known for their knowledge and experience in technical matters in hopes they will contribute articles over the year’s four issue. If you are someone with technical knowledge and time to contribute, please reach out to James Low or Jessica Kirby with your ideas.
To engage the engineering community, the committee is crafting some verbiage and a one-page information sheet about the TIAC Times and the benefits of a free subscription. Watch for this in the coming weeks and consider sending it to your contacts, inviting them to sign up for a free subscription.
If you have questions, comments, or suggestions for the Membership and Marketing Committee, please reach out to James Low. ▪
