The BCICA’s Derby Day membership event is the largest race day at Hastings Park. This year, the second annual event saw 80 contractors and their guests attend for an exciting day at the track. Guest came from all across BC and Alberta to participate in what is quickly becoming one of the association’s most anticipated events.

An important highlight of this event: Aarc-West owners Chris and Tasha Ceraldi ran Accidental Hero, who came through with a huge win—resulting in what was likely the loudest cheer the park has ever experienced.

Congratulations to Melody Low and Tony Garneau for winning the Best Dressed prizes—enjoy your Milestones gift cards!

The idea for Derby Day came from Rob Nofield, Crossroads C&I, who is a former jockey at Hastings Park and whose family has long-standing ties to horse racing and the park.

The BCICA would like to thank its sponsors—Crossroads C&I, Armacell, Nu-West Construction, Tight 5 Contracting, and Aarc-West Mechanical Insulation. Without them, this event could not take place. ■
