As we move further into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strength of our association, the momentum we’ve built together, and the exciting opportunities ahead. This has been a year of meaningful accomplishments—and it’s all thanks to the power of teamwork, shared vision, and the unwavering commitment of our board and members.

One of the most significant achievements this year has been the way our board of directors has come together as a unified team. Each board member has brought unique strengths to the table, and by working collaboratively, we’ve continued to stay true to TIAC’s mission: promoting the benefits of mechanical insulation and advancing the industry across Canada. Our progress is a direct result of the trust, communication, and shared purpose that define our leadership.

I’m also proud to highlight a major success that will have a long-lasting impact on our industry: TIAC has been awarded the Alberta Industry Skills Grant from the Government of Alberta. This grant will support the recruitment and basic training of up to 300 new workers into the mechanical insulation trade. It’s a bold step forward in addressing workforce shortages, opening doors for future professionals, and ensuring the sustainability of our trade for years to come. It’s also a powerful example of what our advocacy can achieve when we work together as an industry. Read more about it on page 14.

As I write this article and we continue this important work, we are also keeping a close eye on the results of the federal election. Elections always bring change, and with that, both uncertainty and opportunity. TIAC will be advocating at the federal level to ensure that our industry’s needs are heard and understood. From workforce development to trade and energy efficiency policy, we are committed having our voice heard in Ottawa—and we encourage our members to stay informed and engaged.

Finally, I want to extend a personal invitation to each of you to join us at the 2025 TIAC Conference in Whitehorse, Yukon, this August. This year’s convention promises to be something truly special. Not only is it set in one of Canada’s most unique and stunning locations, but it will also feature thought-provoking sessions, networking opportunities, and the kind of camaraderie that only happens when our industry comes together face to face. Whether you’re a long-time member or new to the association, the convention is where connections are made, ideas are sparked, and our shared vision comes to life.

On behalf of the entire board, thank you for your continued support and dedication. Together, we are building a stronger future for our industry—one that is inclusive, forward-looking, and filled with opportunity.

I look forward to seeing you in Whitehorse! ▪
